ETHAN FICHTNER

Ethan Fichtner is a photographer based in Mammoth Lakes, California. He received a journalism degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. After school he worked for three years in corporate television news as a photojournalist for an NBC affiliate in San Luis Obispo before jumping into freelance work. He splits his time between the Eastern Sierra and Los Angeles making commercials and pursuing photo stories. When not working, he’s probably out running.

In 2017, Ethan rode his bicycle across the United States from his apartment in New York City to his hometown in California, covering many miles and meeting many people. In 2021, he rode back east along the forgotten, historic Highway 6. His photographs made along that seminal 2017 ride are encapsulated in a book released in 2021 entitled South and West, available here.
